Ikutada Hayakawa was born in Fukagawa, downtown Tokyo, in 1897 and lived in Saga, Kyoto in his later years. In his mid-teens, he aspired to become a "Japanese writer" and spent his entire life pursuing his own style, studying painting, calligraphy, tanka poetry, Japanese literature, biwa (Japanese lute), and seal engraving. This site introduces various works left by Ikuchu.
